Let the Arts inspire you – whether you choose a theme reflecting the visual, literary or performing arts (music, dance, theatre, film, magic) does not matter – have fun with it and embrace the role-play!
A Dance Cuppa
Organise a dance with different kinds of songs or music to dance to, or choose a specific type of music to dance to – guests can socialise, dance and have a Cuppa. If you choose a particular type of music to dance to, this can set the tone for your decor, snacks and beverages too. Alternately, teach your guests a new skill, like belly-dancing!
Mad Hatter Cuppa
First, invite Johnny Depp. Next, hand out 3D glasses. Your hats, table decorations and eats will take on a different dimension. Alice, the white rabbit, the Cheshire cat and the Queen of Hearts will appear. If they are accompanied by a dodo or a gryphon then take off the 3D glasses. This party can be decorated in red or white hearts or can be finished off as a chess board. Watch out for rabbit or Parktown prawn holes. Chamomile tea may be needed when everyone has gone home!
‘Three Cups of Tea’ Cuppa
Use Greg Mortenson’s book “Three Cups of Tea” as inspiration for your Cuppa: ‘Here we drink three cups of tea to do business: the first you are a stranger, the second you become a friend, and the third you join our family, and for our family we are prepared to do anything.’ And remember to light a tea light for cancer warriors.
